God wants YOU to follow Him all the days of your life, to give up your life as a living sacrifice, and to honor Him with all you have. The question is will you honor the requirements of being recruited for service or will/have you forgotten about them? Have you forgotten what you first said to Christ when you were first saved? When God recruits us into His kingdom it’s almost the same as when a regular soldier is enlisted.
These soldiers can be called at any time or any day to drafted into service! They cannot afford to be too wrapped up or too attached to what they are currently doing because they never know when it will be their time to be called to serve.
“No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of this life, that he might please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.”
2 Timothy 2:4 (NASB)
It is the same with our walk with God. As soon as we are saved and go through the initial training, God can call us to serve Him in any way, at any time, with our gifts and talents He gave us. When the call comes there should be no question about it, at all. We should not go AWOL when God is telling us to move or pack to go wherever. We must realize that there comes a time in our walk with God where we are no longer living for ourselves but living for the One who has save us. So, remember when you see that worker having a bad day in the grocery store, when you’re dealing with a difficult boss or coworker, or when you see that needy person on the street struggling:
Now honor your country, God’s kingdom, and honor your recruiter, God Himself, and serve. Right where He called you.
