Kiss the girl

20170308_101125

->Pursuing the Blessings God has for you<-

Graceful, poised, a bit sassy, and always sharply dressed. When she looks up at you and smiles, the whole earth seems to stand still. You want this girl. You feel like you need to have her, but every time you’ve tried to approach a girl you’ve wanted in the past it seems to have failed. This one is not only the prettiest, but also one of the smartest women you’ve known. She’s well out of your league, there’s no way she would give you the time of day, but the Holy Spirit has prompted you within your heart to pursue her. You gulp a bit nervous about what to do in this situation. What to do, what to do? Click the play button on the video bellow and let’s let pastor and worship leader Sebastian minister to us on how we all need to learn how to Kiss the Girl as you read along to my encouragement. And yes, ladies if you know a guy who has this problem feel free to forward this to him. (Disney ministry spring forth!)

Christianese 101: Following God

Christ101Follow.PNG

—>Having regrets about following God?<—

It’s worth following God. No, really, it is. However, when preachers and evangelists tell others these things some forget to tell the full reality of following God. The truth is: it won’t always be pretty, sometimes you’ll be confused as to why God is allowing you to suffer through certain things, and sometimes—even most times–everything won’t be peaches and roses. See, with following God, there comes a cost. Jesus and the disciples were NOT afraid to tell these things to others. In fact, if you recount the fact that they often told people about the cost of following Jesus, especially before people began to follow, you cannot help but to admit the drawing power of God!

Name Dropping

name

Life is about who you know, right? People get special treatment, special privileges and even specific jobs because they know people who work there or operate in circles that are higher in the totem pole. Sometimes even becoming enemies with the wrong people can put you in a bad place in certain circles. This is why some people in society will find themselves name dropping. They’ll let certain names of people come into their mouths so that they can gain access to places that they would never have access to before.

What saddens me is that I see people in the church doing this. If they find out that you’re someone special in a certain circle or spot in life they’ll mention your name just so they can get access. Even in jobs, people will try to pretend as though they know someone who you know just so they can get close to you because they feel as though you have something they can use. I can’t help but to laugh at all these things when I see this, especially in Christians because we don’t realize that we have the most important name of all that should always be on our tongues: Jesus.

How to Survive a difficult job like a Pro!

difficult

So you learned how to survive dealing with people who hate your guts(read about that here), but now you’re realizing you don’t know if you can survive another year dealing with difficult personalities, crazy workloads, and just over all toxic work environments. What’s a gal/guy to do with so much coming against them? And to top it all off God did make work toil as part of the curse from the fall of Adam and Eve, right? Soooo, He should completely understand if you want to throw Sally from accounting under the bus if she pries her nosy self into your love life one more time because you’re stressed. She’s had the wrath of God coming to her for a long time, or so you think. Would God approve though?

Feeling Defeated

defeated

Crushed. Broken. Ashamed. Grief-stricken. There have been many times that people have faced periods of feeling defeated. Sometimes you wonder why God didn’t answer you in the way He should have. Maybe you’ve been praying for a relative for years and they just seem to be getting worse and worse. Or maybe you were completely out of God’s will and prayed for something and His answer was no. There have been times when I’ve felt like maybe God wasn’t going to come through or perhaps He didn’t come through at that time. In these times you just want to give up on doing what you’ve been doing or call quits on God. However, through the years what I’ve come to understand about feeling like your defeated is that if you are in God’s will you are not defeated at all. One person in the Bible that most would be shocked to discover met what we would call defeat or failure is Jesus.

The Prideful and The Prejudiced

Prideful

A lot of people say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but how many people actually listen to this statement? Even in the Bible, God does not judge a person based on what man can see, but instead what He sees in the spiritual. However, I often see people in the Christian community, especially, judging and turning their nose up to people they feel are a certain way. Let’s be honest, we’ve all been down this path before. We’ve all gotten to a place where we judged someone without knowing them too well or made a hasty decision on whether or not to associate with a person because of their past or things they have said or done. Sometimes your decision to stay near a person was purely based on what a person could or could not do for you. The question you need to ask yourself is: Who are you?

Idol Killer

idol

Some people don’t really know this about God. There is so much attention on God’s loving and doting side that people don’t realize He’s a killer—a stone cold murderer…of idols! See, it’s good to know the many faces of God and one of them is that He gets very jealous. He does not like it when we put things before Him. And if you’re anything like me and have experienced Him getting jealous, you know this is a dangerous territory to travel in because when God gets jealous things can get seriously scary in your life.

Help, God, I settled for a counterfeit!

help

–>Lessons in Contentment<–

So, you prayed and prayed and prayed. Finally, God opened up a door, seemingly miraculously and it seems like He would have you to walk through it. From a distance everything looked great. It seemed to be almost exactly what you needed, however as you started to move closer and closer to it you began to see tons of imperfections that you didn’t notice before. Or worse, you’re like me, and notice every imperfection that could begin to exist in the door before you walk through it and are complaining the whole way and time you walk through it. Thoughts come to your mind that cause you to wonder: ‘Is this really the best that God can do?’ But perhaps you don’t dare utter them out loud, since you know it’s not too good to complain about where God has sent you. As you bite your tongue and decide to settle with the portion God gave you, you still can’t help but think: ‘Lord, I settled with this option.’

Christianese 101: ‘God said…’

Godsaid

–>Hearing the Voice of God<–

So, you thought you heard from God. You went after that one job, that one person you thought was going to be your spouse, or that one career path that you could’ve sworn—if you were allowed—that it was the path you were meant to go down. However, once you found out these things that you pursued weren’t what God told you to go after, you start wondering to yourself: Do I really hear from God? Sometimes you might even get other people who you told you were hearing from God scorn or mock you for following what you though was God’s leading.
