Misunderstood

—–Understanding the Nature of God—–

Have you ever been negatively accused of being something or someone you’re not? Usually you would brush it off, if a complete stranger made accusations about you. You might not see them again and they are not close enough to you to make a true assessment of your character. It’s awkward and upsetting, however, when people who are supposed to know you, don’t know your nature at all. So, you can only imagine how God must feel when people are claiming to serve Him and be friends with Him are misunderstanding and misjudging His character.

How many times have you accused God of being unfair or anything BUT good because He did NOT give you something? Have you assumed the Master was harsh because of your circumstances? This is a dangerous place to be in as a Christian. I would know because when God was trying to break me free of an atheist mindset, I struggled with thoughts like this due to my inability to see God’s hand moving on my life.

Am I called to singleness?

So, you’ve been waiting on God for a spouse for some time now. At first, you started off strong, filled with fervor, and zeal for what God had for you. But now, you find yourself watching everyone around you getting engaged or married. You’re creeping up into your 30’s and now you’re starting to wonder to yourself: ‘God why am I left out?’ The strange thing is after a while you start feeling content being single. Like, WAAY too content being single, to the point where you are not concerned much about your spouse. Everyone is asking you about who you’re dating or if you’ve met someone and the only thing you can wonder to yourself is: ‘Is there something wrong with me?’ ‘Am I called to be single for the rest of my life?’

Help God, I’m Stuck!

So, you’re at this spot and seem to be staying at this spot. Everyone around you seems to be moving forward, but not you. You are still in the same pit that you’ve been in for years and years. You look at everyone else who seem to be effortlessly moving on in their life and start to wonder: What’s wrong with me? God, why can’t I seem to get up when it’s so easy for everyone else? Doors seem to be closing on me left and right and everyone I thought were close to me are nowhere to be found. It seems like every time I get up; I’m knocked back down to the ground again. I’m bruised and sore from all the times I tried to step forward in what I thought you’ve called me to do. God, where is this going? I’ve been praying for years! I’m stuck and I can’t seem to get out of this pit!

There are a lot of different ministries and things written or spoken about God online currently. The internet is littered and cluttered with more information than anyone bothers to look at or read. Clutter tends to lead not only to distraction, but also to confusion. This confusion is often in what ministry or minister to listen to. Who do you trust when multiple people are barking similar yet different messages at you? Who is telling the truth? It’s so easy to struggle with being able to tell the difference between good sound biblical doctrine and ‘teaching’ that’s just for entertainment or show. We almost have to become like Phoenix Wright in the game Ace Attorney and analyze each message word by word to spot the contradiction in their story.
