When I was first graduating high school, there were so many things I enjoyed doing and some of those things I was pretty good at. I had a lot of different interests so when it came to finding my purpose and call in life, I was utterly and completely lost. I see a lot of people who have the opposite of this problem, but still can relate to my struggle of being lost on what God has called them to do. Just like everyone else I was clueless in which direction I should head, not because I didn’t know my gifts, but because I was not grounded in my identity. I had an idea of who God was, but had no idea what He said about me. I think a lot of people might think one is ‘lucky’ to know what they are good at or what interests them, and that is true if you have one set goal in mind, however when you have multiple things tugging at you and pulling you in multiple directions it’s hard to pinpoint where you should move. If you have no target to hit, you cannot miss, but if you have multiple targets to hit, and should only hit one, you might feel a bit anxious about your next move.Continue reading “Purpose Series :: Becoming Grounded in Christ”
->Pursuing the Blessings God has for you<-
Graceful, poised, a bit sassy, and always sharply dressed. When she looks up at you and smiles, the whole earth seems to stand still. You want this girl. You feel like you need to have her, but every time you’ve tried to approach a girl you’ve wanted in the past it seems to have failed. This one is not only the prettiest, but also one of the smartest women you’ve known. She’s well out of your league, there’s no way she would give you the time of day, but the Holy Spirit has prompted you within your heart to pursue her. You gulp a bit nervous about what to do in this situation. What to do, what to do? Click the play button on the video bellow and let’s let pastor and worship leader Sebastian minister to us on how we all need to learn how to Kiss the Girl as you read along to my encouragement. And yes, ladies if you know a guy who has this problem feel free to forward this to him. (Disney ministry spring forth!)
I’m kind of more on the sarcastic side of speech every now and again. I will occasionally joke or comment about being tired from school or work, but it’s usually nothing that is that deep for me. I do it just to poke fun at my situation. However, I notice that people get to the point where they get this big chip on their shoulders where they feel like they’ve been through more than another person so they should get more blessings. Or they have been through more than another person so they don’t feel sympathetic to a person’s situation. I see Christians especially falling into that ‘but, I suffered more’ comparison game. Sometimes I feel like I’m in the hunger games of suffering and we’re all having a ‘suffering war’ to see who outshines each other in what they’ve went through. However, God doesn’t play this game though. No, seriously He doesn’t. He actually will bless whomever He wants whether or not they suffered as much as you.
