How have you been approaching God in prayer lately? Mad, confused, defeated, or filled with unbelief? It’s possible that God wants to answer your prayer but first must deliver you from what’s inside your heart. If you been having difficulty seeing an answer to some of your prayers this might just be the sermon for you. God doesn’t call us to stay wimpy and weak in our faith, but calls us forward to grow in the Spirit as we walk with Him. Hope you enjoy this sermon I wrote and spoke that talks a bit about the problem of uncertainty in prayer. God bless

#Misunderstood: Understanding the Nature of God

—–Understanding the Nature of God—–
Have you ever been negatively accused of being something or someone youโre not? Usually you would brush it off, if a complete stranger made accusations about you. You might not see them again and they are not close enough to you to make a true assessment of your character. Itโs awkward and upsetting, however, when people who are supposed to know you, donโt know your nature at all. So, you can only imagine how God must feel when people are claiming to serve Him and be friends with Him are misunderstanding and misjudging His character.
How many times have you accused God of being unfair or anything BUT good because He did NOT give you something? Have you assumed the Master was harsh because of your circumstances? This is a dangerous place to be in as a Christian. I would know because when God was trying to break me free of an atheist mindset, I struggled with thoughts like this due to my inability to see Godโs hand moving on my life.

ย

So, youโve been waiting on God for a spouse for some time now. At first, you started off strong, filled with fervor, and zeal for what God had for you. But now, you find yourself watching everyone around you getting engaged or married. Youโre creeping up into your 30โs and now youโre starting to wonder to yourself: โGod why am I left out?โ The strange thing is after a while you start feeling content being single. Like, WAAY too content being single, to the point where you are not concerned much about your spouse. Everyone is asking you about who youโre dating or if youโve met someone and the only thing you can wonder to yourself is: โIs there something wrong with me?โ โAm I called to be single for the rest of my life?โ
Christianese 101: โGod Give Me My Hearts Desire!โ

Just this week, I was having a conversation with my boss about eating at Subway. He chuckled a bit and told me that he could probably guess the top three subs that I would like eating. Unfortunately, each time he guessed one, I cringed and then laughed at what he said. There was no WAY that I would order anything remotely close to what he was guessing. Those subs not only didnโt suit my tastes, but they also did not suit what I needed to maintain the body I had been given to take care of.
I then smiled warmly and told him exactly which ones I would like and we began to laugh as I guessed all of what he wanted correctly. It was kind of bizarre to me that this man that I had known for a while guessed the completely OPPOSITE of what I not only desired to eat but needed to maintain what God gave me.ย Luckily for us, God is not like this at all, when He searches our hearts desires He can tell not only if they are something we truly want as well as if they are something we need.

—Need direction on what God’s telling you to do? Read this!—
Have you ever felt like youโve gone down the wrong path? There was warning sign after warning sign telling you that this was not the door God had for you, yet still you went down the wrong path anyway. You feel like youโve picked the wrong degree, the wrong job, and maybe even the wrong person to enter a relationship into with. You didnโt listen to God at all, nor did you consult Him when you went down this path, you just went on your own pathway.
The truth is you wanted that woman to be your future wife so bad, you never slowed down to make sure God was actually speaking to you. When it came to school, you simply just went with what everyone else said youโd be good at, rather than listening to God. Your job just ended up being something you chose to just โpay the billsโ because you never once in your life just tried to wait on God and what HE wanted.ย If this is you, there is still hope if you believe in God. The God you believe in is a heavenly Father who is ready to step in on your behalf, even when youโve made what you feel like is a mess of things.
The Original Call

—> Struggling with feeling like people are stealing your purpose? Read this!<–
So, you finally found Godโs will for your life. Youโve found your purpose; you found the path that you were meant to go down. You spent time in prayer seeking God and Heโs finally revealed to you where you truly belong. You now realize every door that was shut on you and everyone who rejected you in the past was God gently nudging you and guiding you into what He really wanted you to do. The door was opened to you and you walked through it without looking back.
Unfortunately, when you went into your new season you now notice that people that never even talked about doing the work youโre doing are suddenly trying to do what God told YOU to do! Whatโs worse is that itโs plain as day that they are not graced to handle that call and they are trying to force something that God never ordained in the first place. What do you do when someone is committing identity theft in the Spirit against you?! Thereโs no need to fret or be distraught over this because God has seen it all, letโs turn to 1st Corinthians :
Christianese 101: Free Will

–>Can I mess up God’s plan for me?<–
I feel like a lot of younger Christians, and even some older ones, have this question on their mind every now and again. They often find themselves wondering if we have free will can we mess up the plan God has for us? I mean, can you mess up Godโs will for your life? Can you just do something so insane, so crazy that you destroy everything that the all mighty God has planned for you to do? Some people would say yes that because God gives us โfree willโ we can indeed mess up what He wants for us, while others stay focused on the fact that God is sovereign and since He controls everything there is no way that you could mess up His will for your life. Me, Iโm a bit more complex than that. My answer is, no and yes at the same time. You can indeed โmess upโ Godโs will for your life, but you canโt really mess it up.
Christianese 101: ‘God said…’

–>Hearing the Voice of God<–
So, you thought you heard from God. You went after that one job, that one person you thought was going to be your spouse, or that one career path that you couldโve swornโif you were allowedโthat it was the path you were meant to go down. However, once you found out these things that you pursued werenโt what God told you to go after, you start wondering to yourself: Do I really hear from God? Sometimes you might even get other people who you told you were hearing from God scorn or mock you for following what you though was Godโs leading.
Christianese 101: Being Led By the Spirit

So we’ve all heard it before if you’ve been in church for quite sometime now. Preachers and pastors always answer almost every single question a young Christian has with, “You need to be led by His Spirit”, when making whatever decision it is they are to make. So, what is that exactly? How can one be led by the Spirit of God? It’s simple really: if the fruit is not there and the works of the flesh are, it’s probably not the Holy Spirit guiding you.
